A Richard French Live Special Report
More than any other occupation, law enforcement is an emotionally and physically dangerous job. Long hours, rotating shifts and exposure to life’s greatest tragedies take a heavy toll on police officers. Experts say an officer's ability to cope will ultimately become strained if underlying personal issues are not addressed. A police officer is more likely to become a victim of suicide than to be killed in the line of duty.
Law enforcement suicide is a devastating problem that shatters hundreds of families nationwide each year. On Thursday, June 7th, an in-depth look into this issue was aired on a special edition of “Richard French Live.”
