Woman Claims Daughter Only Got Her Pain Medication for Cancer
GREAT NECK — In the fallout of the police crackdown on illegal prescription drugs that brought in nearly a dozen arrests on Long Island, a defendant's mother said her daughter was only trying to help her. Georgina Peres said she could not afford the medication to help her cope with the pain of cancer. With the intention to help, Georgina Torres took her mother's medical records and returned with a bottle of Percocet, according to Peres. The 74-year-old mother claims her daughter does not use prescription drugs, adding that Torres works hard to help out the family.
