Back in 1989 the Rockville Centre dining scene was almost non-existent. Then George Martin The Original, named after owner George Korten and founding partner Martin Winkler, opened up just off the LIRR and started the culinary revolution in town. A classic American bistro, the restaurant's menu has evolved over the years but versions of the dishes that started it all still remain. Favorites include a marinated skirt steak, shrimp and lobster pasta and herb-roasted free range chicken with mashed potatoes.
