Dog Owners Must Pay $13 Fee on Holidays and Weekends
HUNTINGTON — Owners of dogs over 25 pounds must now pay a $13 fee to use the West Hills County Park on weekends and holidays, while dogs under the limit weight can play in the same park for free. County park officials insist that the cost is not related to dog size but because the large dog park includes other facilities like picnic tables, grills and hiking trails. FiOS1's Carolyn Fortino talked to large dog owners about the increased fee, which they called discriminatory.
Town officials say the fees are being used to pay for park maintenance.
