County Lawmaker Faces Possible Contempt Charges

No decision was reached in a case against Nassau County Legislator Peter Schmitt. Federal Judge Arthur Spatt said he is going to reserve his final verdict in the case involving the presiding officer of the county legislature. Schmitt faces possible contempt charges for allegedly revealing details of a multi-million dollar settlement that a judge ordered sealed.
