Letter Carriers Collect Food for Island Harvest
LONG ISLAND — The United States Postal Service and the National Association of Letter Carriers joined with Island Harvest to mark the 20th annual National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday. Letter carriers collected non-perishable food donations from mailboxes along their routes to be delivered to Island Harvest for distribution to needy Long Islanders. An estimated 300,000 residents on Long Island are in need of food, including more than 100,000 children.
