Event is Nation's Largest Single-Day Drive
LONG ISLAND — Letter carriers across the island will be picking up donations all along their routes on Saturday in order to help the hungry. May 12 marks the 20th annual National Association of Letter Carriers' Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, the largest of its kind in the nation. On Long Island, letter carriers have teamed up with Island Harvest to help out 300,000 needy Long Islanders.
Residents can simply put non-perishable food items near their mailbox where letter carriers will pick it up and take it to Island Harvest for distribution.
The place for everything on our Island.
