Sources Say Police Shut Down Operation Over Peddler's Permit
Police have reportedly shut down the business of Catherine Scalia, the alleged "hot dog hooker," because they said she did not have the proper permits to operate her truck. According to CBS News, Scalia went to the Town of Hempstead Thursday morning to inquire about getting a peddler's permit but left without applying after she was told there was a $50 application fee. If Scalia decides to apply for the permit, officials said the process could take a couple of weeks and includes a criminal background check.
