NEW YORK — Some dogs saved by U.S. soldiers while serving in Afghanistan arrived in New York Wednesday as part of an initiative to provide the war-torn canines with good care. Through the Home Again: Operation Support Our Troops program, the rescued dogs dubbed "Battle Buddies" will be paired with soldiers stationed in the United States and with returning war veterans. Meredith Festa of the Guardians of Rescue said soldiers want to ensure the dogs they have rescued are given proper treatment.
