Police arrested a Hicksville man who they say attempted to grab an officer's gun from his holster. According to authorities, a violent struggle ensued between Manuel Carbajal and police when they attempted to arrest him on McKinley Avenue after he allegedly pointed a gun at two people earlier on Heitz Place. Detectives say Carbajal tried to get the officer's gun during the struggle before breaking free and managing to get the officer's radio. Carbajal was eventually caught and the radio was recovered, authorities said.

Carbajal faces several charges including robbery and assault.
