A Brooklyn man is behind bars after being accused of neglecting his elderly mother who lives in Deer Park and suffers from Alzheimer's disease. Police said Joseph Coppa, 57, failed to provide proper care for his 95-year-old mother after Suffolk County Adult Protective Services notified him twice. Officials said Coppa's mother was living in horrible conditions at a home condemned by fire marshals. Coppa is charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent or disabled person.
