Police: Store Owner Charged with Drugging, Abusing Teen

INWOOD — Police arrested 44-year-old Daniel Miller Thursday and charged him with drugging a 17-year-old male and engaging in sex acts with the drugged teen. According to Nassau County Police, the unidentified victim reported to his first day of work at the Botanica herbal medicine store on Mott Street January 3 where he was given a liquid mixed the anti-anxiety medication Lorazepam by Miller. Police say Miller, who owns the store, then sexually assaulted the drugged teen. According to police reports, the victim woke up in Miller's home 12 hours later.

Upon his arrest, Miller complained of chest pain and was taken to a local hospital. Authorities say Miller is currently being held on a $2 million bond.
