RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Local residents reacted to George Zimmerman's court appearance Thursday. Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder after officials say he admitted to shooting Trayvon Martin in self-defense. Some residents say Zimmerman did not have a right to kill Martin and that it should not have taken so long for him to be charged.

Zimmerman's appearance in court comes after campaigns for justice by civil rights groups and advocates nationwide.
