NEWARK, NJ — Due to rapidly deteriorating weather conditions and in the interest of customer and employee safety, NJ TRANSIT will be suspending some bus, rail and Access Link service later this evening. Customers are advised to check njtransit.com for the latest service information.

Effective Monday, Nov. 19, NJ Transit rail service will operate as follows:

Northeast Corridor: Service between Trenton and New York has been fully restored and will operate on a regular schedule.

North Jersey Coast Line: Service between Long Branch and New York will operate on a regular schedule, except for selected trains that will be cancelled. Trip times will be approximately five minutes longer due to signal system limitations. Service between Bay Head and Long Branch will operate on a regular schedule, except for 2300-series trains to/from Hoboken that will be cancelled.

Coming on the heels of NJ TRANSIT’s restoration of rail and bus service to New York and utilizing federal and regional transportation resources to ease traffic congestion, improve trans-Hudson access and further help New Jersey residents navigate around the state, the Christie Administration today announced an emergency bus plan designed to transport New Jersey residents back to their jobs starting Monday morning.

Here is up-to-date information from the office of Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tri-State Area transit as storm recovery continues:

NYCT SUBWAY SERVICE:

1 trains will operate local between 242nd Street (Bronx) and Times Square-42nd Street.

2 trains will operate between 241st Street (Bronx) and Times Square-42nd Street, with express service between 96th Street and Times Square.

3 trains are suspended.

4 trains will operate in two sections making all local stops:
· Between Woodlawn (Bronx) and Grand Central-42nd Street
· Between Borough Hall and New Lots Avenue

NEWARK, NJ — New NJ TRANSIT bus schedules will take effect on many routes September 1, 2012, including implementation of the agency’s Bus Service Optimization plan that contains both service reductions on underperforming routes as well as new investment in expanded and enhanced service along heavily-travelled corridors.

Official release from New Jersey Transit:

Route 495 eastbound to close in Weehawken for overnight construction starting August 6

NEWARK, NJ - Beginning on or about Monday night, August 6 and continuing through late-Fall of 2013, Route 495 eastbound will be closed at Pleasant Avenue in Weehawken for overnight repairs. Additionally, one lane on Route 495 westbound along the helix will close to support the eastbound construction.
