ESSEX COUNTY COOLING CENTERS
The Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange will be open as an Essex County public cooling station. The arena will be open today from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and tomorrow and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The center is located at 560 Northfield Ave. in West Orange.
In addition, local municipalities have set up centers or have recommended public facilities where citizens can go to get respite from the heat.
BELLEVILLE
• Belleville Senior Citizens building, 125 Franklin Ave., today from noon to 11 p.m.

Cooling Centers Open in Nassau County

Cooling centers will be open from Wednesday through Saturday in Nassau County, where temperatures are expected to hit the mid to high 90’s. The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Long Island.

Town of Hempstead:

Expected Hours of Operation: Wednesday/Thursday/Friday 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., unless specified otherwise.
