Buses will replace train service along segments of the Long Island Rail Road’s Montauk Branch beginning this Saturday and continuing during off-peak hours next week as the Railroad turns the focus of its annual track renewal and maintenance program to the south shore of eastern Suffolk Country.

NEW YORK (AP) — Tebow Time is over in New York, before it ever got started.

Tim Tebow was waived by the Jets on Monday, the end of an unsuccessful one-season experiment in New York.

Coach Rex Ryan said in a statement by the team in announcing the move that had been expected for months: "Unfortunately, things did not work out the way we all had hoped."

NEW YORK — Part of the landing gear, apparently from a commercial airplane destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001, was discovered wedged between the rear of 51 Park Place and the rear of the building behind it, 50 Murray St., in lower Manhattan this week.

That Park Place address was the proposed site of the Ground Zero mosque.

The original contract signed by Mickey Mantle for the 1960 season will be auctioned off next month and proceeds from the sale will be donated to a New Jersey relief fund for Hurricane Sandy. Danny Mantle, the son of the Yankees' Hall of Fame outfielder says his mom deserves all the credit for keeping the contract along with other artifacts, and that it looks "brand new."

NEW YORK – Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman announced Thursday that his office is rolling out a series of public service announcements aimed at New Yorkers that are struggling against foreclosure.

The advertisements are intended to publicize the attorney general’s Homeowner Protection Program, a $60 million initiative providing free legal assistance and housing advice at select agencies.
