For the 5th straight year, the 1-seed Bridgewater-Raritan Panthers (15-3) are the Somerset County champions, beating the 3-seed Pingry Big Blue (15-4) 18-8 at Torpey Athletic Complex in Bridgewater. The Panthers went up 5-0 barely 5 minutes into the game, but an Olivia Lai hat trick led the Big Blue all the way back to 5-5. Bridgewater-Raritan took the lead again before halftime thanks to Lizzy Escudero’s 3rd score of the half, which was also their 4th extra-woman goal. They poured on the offense in the 2nd half, as Tai Jankowski and Maddie Bray completed hat tricks; Julieann Murphy, who had 6 points in 2019 entering the game, earned 1 goal and 3 assists in the half. Both teams are #1 seeds in their state tournament brackets, with Pingry in Central Group 1 and Bridgewater-Raritan in North 2, Group 4.

For the first time since 2014, the Ridge Red Devils (16-1) are Somerset County champions, as the 2-seed beat the 1-seed Montgomery Cougars (12-3) 15-9 at Torpey Athletic Complex in Bridgewater. After an even 1st quarter, Ridge outscored Montgomery 3-0 in the 2nd, as Jake Hoffman earned a hat trick before halftime. Chris Crapanzano scored 2 of Ridge’s 5 goals in the 3rd as the Red Devils pulled away, getting revenge on the only team that has beaten them this season. Both teams await their state tournament seedings, which will be released on Monday.

For the 2nd straight year and 8th time in the past 11 years, the Summit Hilltoppers (11-2) win the Union County Tournament with a 9-4 win over the Westfield Blue Devils (7-7) at Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark, NJ. Summit was led by junior midfielder John Fischetti, who replaced senior Jackson Tyler at game time in the starting lineup, and tallied a team-high 3 goals. Dickinson-bound senior Skylar Schluter also contributed for the Hilltoppers with 2 goals and 1 assist. Westfield was led by Brown-bound senior Devon McLane, who tallied 2 goals.
