Are you a producer who is passionate about politics and really knows the news?

WRNN-TV in Rye Brook, NY is seeking an experienced and dependable line producer. 
The position involves oversight of an hour program: Richard French Live. Ideal candidate will book guests, have experience line producing for a live news/talk/opinion format, have excellent TV writing skills, and be extremely organized. Ideal candidate should be well versed in news issues, skilled in writing some opinion pieces.

Requirements:
2+ years line producing experience and work well under pressure & tight deadlines.
Experience with ENPS and familiarity with New York City area are a plus.
4 year degree or equivalent work experience

Senior Producer

WRNN-TV in Rye Brook, NY is seeking experienced and dependable News Producers. Must be able to line produce, write compelling news stories and work well under pressure & tight deadlines.

3+ years news producing experience is preferred. Producer must select stories, stack and write show, and help lead news staff. Social Media Specialist

Show Your Digital Savvy

Candidates should demonstrate experience with the latest methods of web publishing and social media. Subject expertise in broadcasting is a plus.

Web content writing experience; handling editorial duties for an online media company, ideally working on a variety of web content products

Junior Broadcast Technician (Full Time) 

Do you enjoy working with digital video, perhaps shooting and then editing home movies on the computer?  Do family and friends rely on you to setup their new HDTVs and media center equipment?  Do you have a strong I.T. skill set and realize that today’s television stations rely heavily on computers?  If you just “get it,” you could have a future as a Broadcast I.T. Engineer and should review the requirements of a position available at RNN-TV in Westchester, NY:

 

Technical Skills:

• CCNA and/or MCSE preferred

• Thorough knowledge of Windows XP/NT/2000/2003 server & workstation, including Active Directory, a must

• Mac OS & Final Cut Pro experience a plus

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential.  Applicant should be comfortable troubleshooting computer systems at the component level.

• General understanding of digital video formats is helpful

• Working knowledge of fiber optic distribution systems as well as LAN/WAN/VPN, Video over IP and VOIP technologies is important

Non-technical Skills

Operations Coordinator (Full Time) Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun

WRNN-TV in Rye Brook, NY is looking for a highly organized, hands-on Operations Coordinator with knowledge of various areas of live television production (control room, master control, shooting, editing).

Responsibilities:

Supervise the daily activities of the broadcast operations unit.  Determine workflow and manage scheduling.  Implement operational polices and procedures.  Recruit and train new employees, manage and develop production staff.  Ability to fill-in for various production positions when necessary and willing to work until the job is done. Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.

Requirements:

• 1-3 year’s prior television production staff management experience. 

• B.A. in communications or journalism

 

Master Control Operator (Full Time)

Seeking a Master Control Operator willing to accept responsibility and work under moderate supervision while resolving various problems, requiring general knowledge of the company’s policies and procedures. Candidate will perform both assigned and unscheduled duties and will work effectively in a team environment. Master Control is a 24/7 department; MCO’s work all shifts including weekends, overnight and holidays.

 

Requirements:

Operate control room boards and monitor programming as needed

Log all required transmitter readings

Produce all commercial dubs as well as supervise transmission of station

Maintain station log, run pre-taped and live programming, respond to timing changes at a moments notice

Take accurate transmitter readings, record and log feeds for news, and edit in commercials for pre-recorded shows

 B.A. in related field

Minimum 1 year of experience in a broadcast/cable environment with basic knowledge of production equipment and production techniques, computer-based production as well as basic knowledge of video/audio signal and tape dynamics. 

 

Graphics Designer AM Shift (Full Time) M-F

Responsibilities include creation of broadcast graphics for daily newscasts.  Additional responsibilities involve operating studio camera, teleprompter, audio, and other duties as needed.  Must have excellent attention to detail including grammar and spelling, have a working knowledge of live control room operations and fast paced newscast production techniques. Successful candidate should possess good communication skills and work well under pressure with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

• 2 years experience in a live news environment

• Candidates must be dependable and have thorough knowledge of PhotoShop

• After Effects knowledge a plus

 

Editor AM Shift (Full Time) M-F  

Experienced editors with comprehensive editing skills who can successfully contribute to the production team. 

Duties:

•  Advanced working knowledge of the NTSC and PAL transmission and video standards

 Freelance Weekend One Man Band Reporter- Covering NJ or LI

Responsibilities:

• Pitch story ideas to producer/and news director and be able to enterprise assignments in the field

• Monitor and keep track of local news related events by way of email/phone tips,

• Associated Press “day schedule events” and newswires, local newspapers and newsroom faxes

• Prepare and research stories to cover and questions to ask during interviews as directed by producer and/or news director

•Field produce stories as a one-man-band reporter by arranging on-camera interviews, stand-ups, and b-roll footage; this includes scheduling, framing, and blocking.

• Maintain, transport, and understand how to operate ENG equipment

• Serve as videographer by gathering story elements on shoots

• Perform “as-lives” or live hits in the field or in studio as directed

• Cultivate and maintain news contacts

• Know general territory and direction associated with assigned beat

• Screen and transcribe field tapes

• Ingest selected field tape footage from tape deck to computer

• Prepare reporter’s script in accordance with news director’s approval and deadline

• Enter story elements including script, supers, and TRT into ENPS (station’s editorial news platform)

• Voice track (record narration) by way of Final Cut Pro (station’s editing software)

• Edit material in accordance with script by way of Final Cut Pro (station’s editing software)

• Send digital file to Transmission server by way of Newsqueue (station’s digital transfer system)

Requirements:

• Excellent writing, reporting and editing ability  

• Access to a vehicle for daily travel to Long Island

• Experience as one person band reporter

• BA degree in broadcasting or equivalent work experience

 

 Part Time Traffic Assistant

Responsibilities:

Organize and maintain ALL tape rooms including, but not limited to, the following: 
Organize RNN, TVE tape room according to PP number 
Organize FiOS DC, LI & NJ tape room 
Purge any and all outdated longform (infomercial) tapes 
Organize RNN and TVE commercial tapes 
Purge any and all outdated shortform commercial tapes 
Pull all necessary tapes for ALL 6 channels to be brought down to Master Control 
Assist with traffic team on preparing logs in advance. This would lead into eventually working ahead on weekend logs for all stations. 
Assisting in bringing materials to and from Traffic and Master Control as necessary. This includes tapes to be ingested, tapes for the following day, and any other extraneous materials either department may require. 

Assist with various administrative duties including, but not limited to, the following: 
The faxing back of all traffic confirmations 
Filing of confirmed traffic instructions 
Sending back any tapes as requested by clients 
Emailing clients verified log requests 
Updating the Traffic Calendar

Requirements:

• Must be available to work 24 hours per week (flexible with days and hours M-F, 9-5)
